I just finished first part of devastator squad. A little mix and match with the arm pads. Tactical one can help to assign them to first tactical unit, and Devastators one will identify them as second, devastator, unit when third unit (another tactical) will be ready.

Deep Purple
As Haldir said in one of the earlier posts, we've both been pretty busy recently. I started working full time as a teacher. Together with my second job at the language school and private tutoring and all the red tape (I never imagined there's so much of it in public school), it meant that I haven't had much free time... I teach 8 different classes at school and even though it's a job that I like, it was quite time-consuming initially. Especially taking into the fact that I needed a while to collect cash from the students and order the course books. Life of a teacher is sooo much easier with them :)
Anyway, here's a unit I've been working on recently. I basically speedpainted them using mainly Vallejo permanent metallic colors and citadel purples. I was aiming at a method to paint them quickly but at the same time to maintain a solid tabletop look. I thought that this break away from the traditional color scheme and a touch of purple would add some life to these guys. Well, life may no be the most appropriate word here but you know what I mean ;)
I still have four more grunts to complete the unit and Lord Tartarus to lead it into the fray. I like these minis, the fact that they are multi part means that it's relatively easy to have several different positions.
In the meanwhile I will be working on a large commission...
Lots of Lotr minis, some really nice sculpts (Khandish chariots, Abrakhan Guard, many Easterlings and a few others). I will probably start with the Khandish infantry so expect an update soon.
And to finish off, here's a song from a band which name is somehow related to the color scheme on my Bane knights.

Blast of f :)
Another week, another unit to go. This time it's devastator squad. Trick is to fit them into tactical squads and distinguish them enough that they still can be identified as devastator squad.
Squad consists of 2 sets of : Multi-melta, Lascannon, Plasma Cannon, Heavy bolter, plus additional sergeant.
Stay tuned for news on those boys ;) Meanwhile enjoy new A-Team Blast of Suite :

Counting Blue Cars
Long awaited update I hope. Life kinda' caught up with both, Viruk and myself, hence our lack of activity on blog. Anyway here's an insight into the Ultramarines Army I'm currently commissioned to work on.
I finished the first tactical according to client's wishes and guidlines. I cut 3 of them to form some different leg poses. Also I juggled some ideas for arms and heads, mixing in with some Sanguinary Guard parts.
You can see that Sergant's banner is not finished, I still have to come up with some ideas for heraldry.
Another thing you might notice is the same 'tactical arm pad' painted on each mini, with small '1' on it. It's an additional feature to unique Roman number every one of those minis have. To help identify them as one unit and still allow to mix and match various squads.
Also I know that powersword on leader isn't anatomically possible ...or is it ;) We're talking about 7 feet tall dudes with two hearts. I think that this overkill shows how badass they are, plus it's lovely part in terms of sculpture :)
And for the music corner. Chosen by relavance to the dominant colour in the set. 1996 hit by Dishwalla
